Biography:
For the last two years,
one of Colby’s goals was to gain experience in
various immigration courts throughout the United
States. He has appeared before Federal Immigration
judges in Arizona, California, Colorado, Texas,
Illinois, Louisiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Missouri,
Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington.
Proven successful in Asylum cases, Bond Hearings,
Stays of Deportation, Special Immigrant Juvenile
Status (SIJS), and most importantly, Removal Defense,
Colby has honed his skills as a litigator in favor of
the Hispanic and Latino communities. Although court
appearances are part and parcel to the public
understanding of immigration law, Colby has achieved
great success with the administrative side of
immigration as well, helping numerous immigrants
become citizens, residents, or obtain an alternative
form of lawful presence.
Although not a native speaker, he has established
significant connections in the Hispanic Community.
From Univision to non profit organizations like,
UNIDOS we stand, Colby is a fierce advocate for
immigrants, both documented and undocumented.
With several years experience in North Carolina Family
Law as well as criminal law, Colby is a well rounded
attorney with experience to successfully manage your
civil or criminal matters.
Colby is originally from Elizabeth City, and has lived
and worked in Charlotte since 2011. He is an alum of
Winston-Salem State University. |
